Bill says: “Help us fill the equine food pantry!”
Horses are expensive, and given the increased vet bills, nutritional needs, emergency care and sheer number of animals, horse rescue is even more so. We couldn’t do it without your help. SFHR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so your contributions are tax deductible.

Donating goods
Got stuff we can use? Send us an email or give a call, and we’ll figure out the best way to get it here.
Donating time
Keeping an operation like this running takes a lot of people power! If you’d like to volunteer your time, muscles and love to the horses and their facilities, we’d really appreciate your help. Call or email to set up a time. We do ask that you make an appointment ahead of time to come out - for your safety and that of the horses, we need to be here to show you the ropes.
Fundraising
SFHR holds periodic fund raisers, including cookouts, trail rides, sales and other events. Keep an eye on the front page of the site to get the latest information on how you can participate.
Visit our on-line gift shop at: www.cafepress.com/stfrancisshop and you will discover very nice shirts, sweats, hats and gifts. There is no overhead for SFHR and we will receive $5.00 for each item sold.
Donating a horse or other equine
While many of SFHR’s equines come to us through the humane society and other animal rescue venues, many animals also come to us from good owners who simply can not keep their horse any longer and want to ensure that their friend ends up in a safe and loving home. Our space is limited, so we cannot always immediately accommodate a request to donate a horse, but if you are considering donation, please call or email and we’ll get back to you ASAP. As of November 21, 2008, we have a new policy with regard to donated horses. Before any equine can come to SFHR the following must be adhered to:
The horse must be inspected at your farm by our staff prior to any move to our farm.
The horse must have current coggins and all vaccinations and we must have a complete vet history on the horse. All vet histories will be verified by our staff.
There will be no exceptions to this policy. If you agree with it, feel free to contact us regarding your horse. If you do not, please do not call or e mail us. Thank you!
